Genesis and Mission

With the blessings and sole patronage of His Holiness the 36th Ruling Pontiff Jagadguru Sri Sri Bharati Tirtha Mahasannidhanam of Dakshinamanya Sri Sharada Peetham Sringeri, SRISIIM Research Foundation (Sri Sharada Institute of Indian Management Research Foundation) a Philanthropic, Charitable and Educational Trust was established under Indian Trust Act 1882 which is the umbrella body of SRISIIM. SRISIIM as its constituent institution came into existence through a joint effort of some eminent personalities under the able leadership of Guruseva Dhureena Dr. V. R. Gowrishankar, the Administrator & CEO of Jagagadguru Shankaracharya Mahasansthanam, Dakshshinamnaya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri who’s initiative to promote a new management credo- The VIVEK MANAGEMENT, purported to make an endeavor of developing Indian School of Thought in Management and Leadership. After painstaking efforts by those eminent personalities, the objective was set out: to produce value-enriched leaders, who shall create corporate environment of excellence, with the strategic intent of reviving the pristine glory of India. Recognising the growing significance of value orientation to business in particular and education in general, the need arose for establishing a School of Management and a Centre for Research, which would strive to impart the lofty ideals of character building to future corporate leaders, apart from education in conventional management skills and techniques. That said idea translated into reality in 1994, during the Vijay Yatra of His Holiness, Jagadguru Mahasannidhanam, the 36th Ruling Pontiff of Dakshinamanya Sri Sharada Peetham, Sringeri. Sri Sri Mahasannidhanam blessed the final decision to set up a unique institute of Research & Study on Leadership and Management with the focus on Ancient Indian Scriptures, Indian Spiritual Wisdom and Bhagavad Gita thorough Indian Ethos and Universal Human Values. This is an Autonomous Institution approved by Ministry of Education Govt. of India for Post Graduate Masters Programmes in Management with the specialised Study on HR Management, Marketing Management, International Business, Business Analytics, Financial Management simultaneously with its core activities of Research & Development.

World renowned Traditional Teacher of Advaita (Nondualistic) Vedanta, Eminent Scholar Monk, Pujya Swami Dayananda Saraswati ji had also blessed the institution by way of installation of idol of Goddess Sharada in its Universal Temple.

In the year 2021, the institution has been further endorsed by Ministry of Science & Technology, Government of India through recognition of the institution as the National Centre of Excellence as a Scientific & Industrial Research Organization, having received the recognition from Ministry of Science & Technology, Department of Scientific & Industrial Research(DSIR). Hence the institution has further diversified its objectives with focus upon multi disciplinary research and development, specifically on Indian Scriptures, Indian Wisdom for Management and Indian Ethos, Data Science, Public Health, Artificial Intelligence, Bio-Informatics, Epidemiology etc. This has been further expanded through establishing the another unique institution “International School of Leadership through Bhagavad Gita: “INSIL-B”. SRISIIM is awarded with British Royal Quality Crown Award from UK, International Star in Quality Leadership Award from Paris, France, Platinum Quality Award & Gold Award for Business Prestige by European Association of Otherways Management Consulting.

Business initiative Direction (BID), the agency of European Union has conferred upon SRISIIM, the International Arch of Europe Award in Diamond Category in Frankfurt, Germany. International Socrates Award Nomination Committee of The European Business Assembly has conferred SRISIIM as the Best Regional Institute by honouring with the prestigious Socrates Award in Switzerland in 2018 for unique Blend of Eastern & Western Practice with innovative Scientific Teaching Tools and Andragogy. This Institute is being led under the stewardship of eminent management philosopher, exponent and Vedantic Scholar Monk, Dr. Swami Chaitanyananda Saraswati (Chairman, RKV International Foundation) whose visionary guidance creates the agenda for growth of SRISIIM. SRISIIM has been producing a band of learning individuals, armed with the leadership quality and strong foundation with spiritual intuitive insights, who are capable of successfully meeting the challenges. The Institute is geared to prepare learners with a perfect blend of Life Skills and Leadership competence to contribute to the yeoman task of nation building through sustainable development.
