ANCIENT WISDOM, THE NATURAL WORLD AND THE ENVIRONMENT
KEYWORDS
Challenge, Ancient Wisdom, Veda, Natural World
Throughout much of recorded history mankind has observed nature’s food chains and has had an interactive relationship with the natural world and the environment. At times our approach has been exploitative. One might expect hunter-gatherers to take what they need as and when it is available, whereas with the move to agrarian societies one might anticipate greater stress will be put upon husbandry and some concern for planning, implications, and consequences. Consciously, due to need or greed, or inadvertently, in any age people can get it wrong, whether by overgrazing or over-fishing or by introducing a plant or animal into an inappropriate location and/or environment.
