RELATIONSHIP BETWEEN SPIRITUALITY AND CORPORATE SOCIAL RESPONSIBILITY – AN EMPIRICAL STUDY
KEYWORDS
Spirituality; Corporate Social Responsibility; Workplace Spirituality; Business Sustainability; Ethical Behaviour.
Many people today feel that there’s more to life and business than just profits. Money as the single bottom line is increasingly a thing of the past. In a post-Enron world and a post-Satyam (read as “not at all Satyam”) India, values, and ethics are an urgent concern. Therefore in today’s times, there is a need for a deep sense of mission and passion; for strong moral, ethical, and spiritual values; for self-awareness; for courage; and for a sense of social responsibility. This study aims to review the definitions of spirituality and CSR, and also study the link between the two. A questionnaire was developed to test the relationship between the two aspects and results show a significant relationship between the two.
