The curiosity in man has from the very beginning propelled him to an eternal pursuit of learning and gathering knowledge. The history of civilizations across the world is an interesting revelation of the ways in which mankind has educated itself and evolved as a species. The Indian way of learning has been unique in its holistic approach of imbibing knowledge to train oneself physically, mentally and spiritually so as to confidently face the challenge of life. This paper discusses the unique methodologies evolved in ancient India, the achievements and accomplishments of the ancient Indian way of learning, and its resurgence and relevance in addressing the issue of the contemporary world.
