Management experts have incorporated its tenets in their theories. but the modern business world shows many areas marked by a deficiency of fair-play, meritocracy, and efficiency. Bhagwad Gita (Gita), an ancient Indian scripture renders a sublime concept of work culture which is universally valid and adaptable in all times. The article provides an insight into the features of modern work ethic and the message of Gita applicable to this work ethic. It shows how the correct interpretation of the law of karma enunciated in the Gita can enrich modern work culture to provide a work ethic which can establish lasting properties and fair-play in the world of business and promote universal happiness and welfare.
